Hello all
I picked up a 2003 8v active sport on Saturday for my daughter to learn to drive in. Full mot etc. 68k steal for £500
Test drive was fine. Driving it Sunday all fine

Took it out today and there is a clunking noise when going round some corners. The sound sounds like a ball joint on the wishbone. But not knowing much about these cars is there anything else to look for. Sounds like the drivers side.
After a quick google people have said the top strunt mounting kit.

But want to make sure if am looking in the right place before ordererung spare parts etc.

Cheers for that,

Will get a good look at the weekend, will try and check the coil spring as well.

Hello

Well finally got round to having a look. Wishbones look ok. No movement/play when pushing wheel. Put anti roll bar bushes look shot.

£39 for full set. That's my next weekend job. And will go from there.
Plus new back box to install.

So much for a cheap car lol

just had a punto that would knock while going over speed bumps or pot holes, changed both arms, anti roll bar bushes and the knocking was still there, later i saw that front shock spring was broken and was missing like 10cm piece, changed spring and knock was gone

My money would be on Top mount, with euro parts Easter sale you're looking at £25

Cheers for that. Will give them a look.
Don't know if they look bad or not.

I had exactly the same problem. But it appeared after replacing the shock absorber, spring, upper end bearing and upper end rubber. The spring was broken, the shock absorber was broken, the bearing and other parts were rotten. The car rose 10cm, which tore the old inner suspension arm bushing apart. The problem could not be seen without removing the suspension arm. And that was the cause of the rattling. The sound was on the potholes in the road as if a hammer had hit an anvil. The impact was felt throughout the body.
