Ihave a 1.6sx and when i accelerate there is a constant clicking noise coming from the front of the car. Its not particularly loud and seems worse at low speeds but it gets really annoying. It doesnt do it when the car is stationary and you press the acceleartor down. It seems to only do it when you lift the clutch. Anyone have any ideas what the problem is and how to get it fixed. Cheers, Rob

i get a similar probelm, i think it's the spring on the throttle as it does it at certain points when pressing the accelerator. not tried to fix it though

just an option but i would check your cv joint gaiters for wear and how secure they are.
could of come loose like mine did a while back.

I think this is maybe what my Brava has had for ages ..It's one of the Relays under the bonnet right at the back of the engine bay just under the windscreen at the left hand side, mine clicks like crazy sometimes when i lift the clutch up and when i put the clurch down the clicking slows down..it's a pain in the arse i know but i can't seem to fix it anyway..iv'r tried new relays and a diagnostic threw nothing up...i'm stumped..let me know how you get on with it mate.

Read the post on throttle bodies

May be a similar problem to a smaller extent.

Its the unit under the ecu.

Clutch thrusts are a big problem for Bravo's. I wouldnt exclude that it needs changing.

Are you sure its a big problem for Bravos? I don't remember it appearing in Toms big list. Another rumour?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Clicking noise - please help

If it was the clutch bearing it would make a noise when you are not moving too. As it only makes a noise when moving and worse when on overrun then its very likely to be drivetrain and not clutch.

Clutch bearings wear on ALL cars.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Clicking noise - please help

might sound stupid.... drivetrain wat is that???? and how do i know if its gone

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Clicking noise - please help

Drivetrain: gearbox, diff, CV joints & wheel bearings.

Its gone when you get horrible grinding noises and can't move the car ;)
