Technical Cleaning the MAF

Hi peeps,whats the best alchol product to clean it with? ive downloaded the guide off ere (for my knowledge But it just says add alcohol..I did a bit of googlin lastnight and all i cud find was Isopropyl Alcohol.I mean,what is this? lol, Is break cleaner a good solution? I just need a small bottle of sumthin really.
ALSO is it a good idea to give it a good clean,does it have any affects? just as i was browsin,i came across 1 guy sayin he cleaned his then half the day later his car went back to normal by playing up.Im buit short of funds at mo so tbh dnt wana fork out 4 a brand new as of yet as i have an mot to pay for on my polo.

Is it safe to use nail varnish remover cus the missus has got some of that and i can quite possibly get on with cleaning my maf if it is safe?

basically contact cleaner is a mild cleaner kind of like carb cleaner but for delicate electrical components. it removes dirt and grease this is what knackers up the MAF
