Has anyone cleaned the electronic type, EGR valve on the JTD? Thinking of giving mine a clean out and removing any excess carbon.

If anyones done it can you give me a few pointers on how to remove and clean it or do i have to do another guide? :)

Also does anybody know where the MAP sensor is on the JD100?

Thanks.

Joske cleaning is the same, but when taken off, it is advised not to turn the key in the ignition. Also, you wont get much out with cleaning, looking at the work way, just cleaned ducts.
The JTD is MAF, so wont have MAP, but if you are thinking about the vacuum pump, its the round big thing that is just over the thermostat.

Cheers Sven, but do you know how to actually take the EGR off? My brothers Alfa 156 2.4JTD has the same EGR as mine but the mechanic cleaned his and the amount of carbon removed was shocking. So i know they can be cleaned and taken apart but need to know how. :)

Im also looking for the MAP sensor not MAF. The JTD does have a MAP sensor. I just want to know where its located.

Sorry, got it wrong, there is no MAP sensor in reality, as I know, just the manifold pressure sensor that is located on the middle of the inlet manifold. It has a 3 pin connector and looks like this.

The egr is connected with 4 screws - 2 that hold the inlet pipe and 2 that hold the egr to the manifold. Take off all 4 and the connector and its off.

In 90% of the cases, the gasket stays OK, but if it splits too much or gets broken, any exhaust place can cut you a new one.

What the MAP goes, like said, there aint one that is equivalent to the petrol MAP, but the above stated one measures the inlet manifold pressure and is the only element that can be related to the Map.
