Technical Cleaning EGR valve

I read the guide of cleaning the EGR valve.
Alle very clear i think but two questions.

Do I have to replace the gaskets or can I reuse the old ones?

Does the fuel economy drop when the EGR valve is sticking / not working properly?

Should be fine using the old gaskets. Although if you really want new ones you can pick them up off ebay for around £2.

Usually the mpg can drop a little when it is broke/sutted up.

I usualy use brakecleaner to remove oil and dirt of non plastic parts.
Should be fine to remove the coal with it.
Could it harm any other bit of the EGR valve?

No shouldn't do. Iv used carb cleaner before so similar kind of thing.
