Clarkson - he's at it again

Yea believe me the old 1.416v in the old Punto (same engine as in the Idea) was very frugal, brilliant engine, I had one for a year and never found it to be under powered. I doubt that when they release the 1.4 16v in the new Punto that anyone would go for the 8v anyway. I they wanted economy they'd go for the 1.2.

Ah Clarkson. I do enjoy his reviews on cars on Top Gear from time to time (even if James and Richard can do better) with the exception of the ones on Skoda.

They're VWs for mean people.

Right, VWs were made by mean people for mean people anyway but whatever you say Mr Man-of-Power.

I can agree to some point on the Croma. Not one of my favourites but it's not that bad surely?

As for the Punto, well I did once drive a 1.4 and found it to be fast enough. Sure, it was like a, "TIE bomber," compared to my Mk1 Punto, "TIE fighter," but that made it more appealing.

i like clarkson, but he must be confused about fiats :D

I was thinking the same in a way. I thought he liked the Panda.

Clarkson, over inflated ego, funny as a dose of the crabs,if it doesnt have 400+bhp its to slow,if the average punter can afford it its crap. In short CLARKSON= :tosser:

clarkson doesnt know enough about cars to write a review imo, but for the sake of comparison you can look at other clarkson reviews, say of GP class competitors. then you can at least get a fair comparison of one man's opinion of the class.

Any reason this thread has been resurected almost a year later?? :p

I think Clarksons ok, he's never been good at doing the more run of the mill stuff cause well if we face it he couldn't give a toss about them could he. It does annoy me that people still write in and complain about top gear being geared towards supercars etc. Its a car entusiast programme about the dream cars we all wanna have a go in, i do think people might just be jealous that he's managed to make a career out of messing around in really fast cars. If you wanna find out about a car that you might buy then get off your arse and do some research is my opinion, its all there readily available in mags and websites and even other car programmes like 5th gear if thats even still on (you'll have to excuse me, i don't own a TV i only watch what i wanna on other peoples tv's)

clarkson is some man for one man he shares the ideas i have for all fords blow them up ... who i n there right mind would come up with a 46 ft panda he had thought about this alot by the way.. ok so he knocks the wa%k slow 1.4 big deal the gp is a goodish looking car but thats it the only good ones are the bigger engine models .... fiat for a long time have failed too deliver a promising car..... look at fiats past turbo this 5 cylinder that why on gods green earth didnt fiat not turbo the sei/cinq as standard ... there is too much car for that tiny petrol engine last yr i was running a 1.4 brava ( the one with the boot ) the slightest of hills and " no you will go slow " on the good side it was fair fast the other side of hill ok so it a good budget car against the whole other class but if i had 10k too buy a car id be buying the ibiza 1.8 turbo or skoda vrs no questions ... fiat i love em but the engines are s4!t unless as above turbo'd/5 cylnder'd
