how do you pronounce it? both me my dad and brother had an arguement about it  if someone could spell it out phonetically(sp?) wit would be great. and dont make me look to stupid :p

I am pretty sure i saw it on a website that it is 'chin-kway-chento' , also the bloke at my scrappy pronounces it that way..

I pronounce it chinkychento, if it helps..

Got this from http://www.artlex.com/ArtLex/Ci.html
cinquecento - Italian, literally "five hundred," it refers to the 1500s — the sixteenth century. It is especially used to refer to Italian art of that century, the time of the High Renaissance and Mannerism. (pr. cheen'kway chayn'toh)

I say 'chin-kway-chento' & my other half says chinkychento, Just suppose it depends on how posh u wanna be! ;)

But just be like most people & just say cinq! (chink) (y)

isnt it italian for 500, so check an italian dictionary, that should have the phonetic (and official) pronunciation?

if u really wanna win an argument just say 500 cus thats what it translates to from italian. the correct phonetic way (with italian accent) is chin-kway-ch-ento! ;)
