Finally back to the fiat scene after encountering the land of renaults..... just sold my 2004 clio dci to get myself a cinquecento, a punto engine, and a few other bits to make a fun small car to drive.... as i need the spare cash left over for my college fees for next year grr!

We decided to strip the interior out of the car today, and upon removing the front soundproofing (tar looking stuff) I happened to press a big switch thing in the middle of the panel between the engine bay and the car...

At a wild guess i thought it may be a fuel cut off switch of some sort, as the car wont run now, it turns over but doesnt fire up.

Firstly is this the fuel cut off swith? and if it is, could anyone tell me how to reset it :S

My car is a 1.1 sporting on an R plate...

I have a 1.2 punto engine ready to go in the car, but want to get this problem sorted out first...

Ive tried the searches, but im not really sure what im looking for... can host a pic if anyone wants to see the piece i mean ...

yea thats just a 'inertial switch' press it on the top and the car should start up fine , my mate has 1 wierd up as a anti theft thingy lol

wicked il have a go in the morning and see if it works... worst case could i overide the switch by connecting the wires going into it together? in all fairness if i was to crash in one of these cars, i dont think theres much chance of survival anyway haha (only jokin')
