General Cinq sporting gear knob and adapter

I hope this isn't replicating any threads, i looked around but couldn't find what i needed.

I bought my '96 Cinquencento Sporting (with a push down gear lever for reverse) nearly a year ago and the previous owner had attempted to change the gear knob. He sawed off the original knob and plastic but then just taped on a different gear knob which now just comes off in your hand.
I'm looking to buy an OMP adapter and gear knob so that i can get this fixed, where is the best place to buy these? I've looked on the OMP website and ebay but can't find the adapter anywhere. I've included a picture...would it be possible to attach the adapter straight on or has it been sawn too far down?

Any advice would be brilliant. Thank you

OMP adaptors are no longer available new. It is possible to fabricate something yourself.

(this is going to be good)

I have a seperate knob for reverse mounted under the alloy billet one. It operates on the plastic sleeve.

link works and it is an OMP adaptor for a fiat cinquecento

according to the description of the item it doesnt fit every OMP gearknob as two are bracketed which dont fit, but from the description these are the only two that dont fit with this device

If this is a genuine item still available to purchase this is certainly a suprising development as we understood it to have not been availble for at least a year so this is potentially a great find if its a genuine product

If life gets too difficult another option is to get an origonal intact gear stick from a breakers.

I don't know what Ming has been smoking, but the idea, as far as I know, is that you take any OMP knob, except the two listed and they screw into the top of the adaptor that you have ordered.

I hope you can get the adaptor, although its listed, it might not be available. Rally Design sometimes list stuff and only order it when they get an order for it.

Just going by this, that i can't see the threaded bit from the gear nob that will allow you to screw the nob onto the adaptor ~~

Doh.

Remove the ring at the bottom. On a standard application that ring hides the grub screw heads.

ahhh so it doeasn't screw into the big hole, but to the 3 small hole in the adapator ? using the fix screw they provide u with ?

(I was also looking at this after i got myself the omp adaptor!)
