General cinq alternator light

Hi hope someone can help my son has a cinq 11. sporting and the red alternator light stayes on all the time alternator shot?????

There is a (thinner) wire from the alternator which, if damaged or not connected, causes the warning light to stay on. If the battery isn't going flat, that's like4ly to be the issue. It's certainly worth testing the alternator before getting another one.

Multimeter across the battery terminals. IIRC, it should show 14v with the engine running. Make sure you select the right scale, first!

hi its showing 14.75 on idle ?

A touch high, but I'd not worry overmuch. Anyone else?
