hi there thankyou for the advise on the turbo cinq any idvise is great to here as i will be listining, as for looking into it,i will be very carefully and my understanding on the turbocharger/fueling issues when it comes to upping the boost is fairly good as i am a mechanic and level 3 MA, theres always more to be learned about everything so im all ears, i would consider nothing less than a total engine strip and rebuild with low comp pistons uprated rods, and great attention to fueling if i go ahead with the low comp high boost conversion.
i also now that the ECU cannot be chipped as the turbo is controlled by pressure acting on a diagphram in the actuator.
im simply going to fit an intercooler and bleed valve and have the ecu set up with a slightly lower c/r using a double steel head gasket and run no more then 0.4 bar to be safe! i have heard the 1.4 brava clutch will fit the cinq is that true?? and thanks for the views on the N/A cinq lol glad you like the gauges lol there not to my liking either after i had done them i realized they were a misstake but the car is totaly mint its done 30k and the engine is only estimated to be 75 bhp its had the following (full decat,4-2-1,BBR starchip,skimmed ported big valve head, uprated plugs and h/t leads,induction kit, bigger injector and throttle body and a thinner steel head gasket.

ow and as for the HID kit they have automatic adjusters and washers fitted 360 quid!! they were classed legal by my manager (MOT tester) when he last saw the car however the auto adjusters have packed in since then so no longer legal im afraid,,,woops
 
Do not fit a bleed valve to the car, its a crude way of controlling boost, they cause boost spikes which are dangerous to the cars health with detonation and the surge in torque they create can make car very unruly. Electronic boost control is much better. You can of course with use of the correct tool, put more preload on the waste gate and check what pressure it cracks open at, it is after all what is meant to control boost.

I've already state which clutch the 200mm from a Stilo 1.4 16V, you also need the flywheel to match.

Your HIDS are not legal, read the DFT guide, unless the headlamp unit is made for a HID bulb, it is illegal as the Cinqs lamps have lines on the front to direct the beam of light, it distorts the light beam, look at any genuine HID headlamp and you will see no markings at all on the glass.

thanks for the that, i will not be fitting the bleed valve then and the HID kit will have to come off for road use then,shame they are fantastic i found the origonal cinq bulbs to be crap even uprated ones.

Don't remove them on my account, but just be forearmed with the knowledge so that IF you get pulled over at night by plod, or VOSA and they tell you to remove them you know why, and you do not stand there arguing with them and making it worse, think on it as a public service.

If you want uprated bulbs then I have found no bulb that can hold a torch (couldn't help it, get my coat) to the Osram Night Breaker bulbs, they are brilliant.
 
thank you, well for now they can stay on because the N/A cinq is offroad so i can afford to run/insure the trubo cinq im picking up tomorow.
im going to go up and with 2 other mechanics have a look around it and once its home give it a dam good service with good oil (which i always use) and a good clean, u mensioned under the bonnet before however i dont really now where to start, with the n/a cinq it was easy the shiny induction kit n manifold shouts out aswell as the smaller stuff but on the turbo i have no ideas as yet,,,,,,any sugestions would be good.
 
Pete spent a lot of time, a lot of love and a lot of cash on that car. He's very knowledgable when it comes to Centos and I'm sure he'll be pleased that it has gone to someone who will care for it :)

yes i can tell i love the look of the car and the interior is great to he had great taste although i havnt spoken to him (id like to), i just want to carry on with the hidden bits a little for now and just treat it as well as i can really (y)
 
For the underbonnet stuff it's really down to Samco hoses in the colour of your choice and polished alloy or stainless pipes. But I'd leave all that until you've sorted out an intercooler. I'd just clean it up and prepare the shopping list!


The Stilo/Panda 100hp clutch and flywheel is a good move, though. AFAIK, no-one has got one to slip yet! Not sure what brakes are on that tub.
 
ok thanks great, well i will deffinatly be upgrading the clutch before the bigger power comes,its common sence really lol, and ye the cooler comes first,going to go around some breakers n see what coolers i can find, i dont want a big one just something like the high boost kit really then i need to sort the hosing out for it,,,not sure where to get the bits from for that, demon tweaks?? and also anyone now the diameter of the cooler inlet/outlet pipes on the high boost kits? is it the same as the inducer on the turbo? :D
 
looks nice i love it, does that car have water injection that i can see in the background?? and when you get a price on the fuel lines and hoses would you mind letting me no how much and were to get them from? ow and your kiding this year ive spent 6000 on the little monsters (just then/a and the buying of the turbo cinq) lol dont regreat any of it though there more than cars. :D
 
you need a high flow pump there are a few post that cover this in detail RS2000 and coupe turbo ones iirc will do.

You need to run 3bar to the second injector as these tend to be rated at 3bar, the stock fuel regulator quite often has to be tweaked, again there is a post by Aaron that covers this. mine runs 115bhp with this and there is scope probably for more

fingers engines bay looks good (well did) as iirc that has samco lines

i dont want it. From what im reading on his N/A he has an enlarged TB and a bigger injector.

Now there have been lots of people in the past asking for a bigger SPI injector, so was wondering where his was from
