Technical Cigar Lighter not working

I've checked the fuses and there were ok, but replaced F44 and F51 anyway - lighter still not working. Is F51 for the light in the lighter? The light does not come on when the main headlamps are on either - is it supposed to?

The lighter does not work and does not power a external GPS either - does it sound like the whole lighter is shot and needs to be replaced?

F44 is the Cigarette lighter socket fuse
F51 is for the light - but that could be just the bulb has blown


On a quick scan of the fuse / wiring diagram
Check fuse F2 - maxi fuse engine bay - 40Amp
Check fuse F32 - internal fuse box - 15A
There linked into the fuse of the cig socket - BUT not powering it, a fuse is easy to check and could be a fluke

Its powered off relay R12 - but haynes doesn't state which flipping relay that is....

Eitherway - you might find removing the centre console and checking for power in the terminals and other bits more helpful here

Since R12 is also used in the washer wipe system, if there working, i'd be inclined to say if the wiper work fully then the problem isn't relay driven

Thanks for the tip - I removed the center console and the problem was staring me in the face. The plug was loose
