General Cig Lighter Wiring Help

Well guys this may sound bit chavvy but i wanted to put some small interior lights in my car and they are powered by cig lighter. So to stop lots of wires could i wire them directly into the wiring of the cig lighter. Any info would be good.

Yes you could. But they'd be on all the time with the ignition. Might be worth wiring into the side lights if only needed when dark, but put and in-line fuse in though. Just incase

or wire to the ignition as you said, but with a switch so you can turn it on or off as you please when the ignition is on.

there is a few wires behind the cig lighter one live on the egg and another which only becomes live when you turn your lights on....
