hey,
I have a 1998 Fiat Bravo HGT fitted with a superchip.. I am thinking of getting for it Schrick camshafts.. Any comments about them? Also I live in a country where there are no chip tuners so if i want to chip the car i have to send my ecu outside the country. Is there anyone who can chip my car in conjunction with the schrick camshafts? Also which is better, Hoermann motorsport or schrick..
Thanks

Chips and cams

The problem is that when you do mods such as chips and cams they have to be set up properly otherwise the car won't run right. You could send your ecu away but to be honest the only way i would consider doing this is on a rolling road where the equipment can be set up properly to complement one another and get the best performance from your car. If it is put in all at the same time and set up at the same time then you'll get the best results. It is a lot of money to part with if when you get the car back it doesn't perform as well as it should do.

One more point if you are considering a cam you might as well have the head flowed and an induction kit if you haven't got one. With the head flowed, chip, cams, induction kit, and exhaust you'll have one quick car. If you do everything seperatly the car will have to be retuned every time you add something to keep maximum performance (acceleration, MPG etc).

Your in a difficult situation if you haven't got these facilities near to you.
Hope this helps?
