Hi! I have a problem. My daytime running light warning comes on when I put on my headlights. Its been ongoing for months I've changed every bulb and a suspect corroded rear light bulb holder but no luck! I had the stop start fault first, but I just had a thought - could it be the battery? Cheers! Tom.

No LED replacements in the circuit?

Hi
My van (Fiorino) has no oem running lights but if one of the side light blows it says check running lights
I have led (COB) SIDE LIGHT and although was working was getting the check running light warning, but after investigation found that one of the leds was not working but was hard to see it wasnt

Thanks for that, I have my daytime running lights turned off and it still comes up with the fault too. I'll have another look at the side lights.

Hi e42b yep all working, this is a confusing issue!

Does anyone think the battery could be dodgy with me having the stop/start not working? Cheers! Tom.

A bad battery can do weird thinks..

But the electrical load is replicated all over the vehicle.. with no such issues

I would be tracing back the loom at the front

Pinch:hinge point damage.. is common at the doors..or rear

But I would be looking for a damaged cable..then clean the earths

Thanks ill take a look tommorow.

Iv had other random faults such as check fuel filter and ice on road warning. One morning it said it was minus 15.c lol. I might try a new battery to resolve stop start not working. Would this help? Thanks again! Tom.

Sensors rely on a stable power supply..

If the effort of cranking the engine drains too much..

Then yes.. the power dip can make sensors flag up errors

This would normally only be on the 1st cold start of the day..

But if you feel its worth the @£100 for a battery.. then go for it :)

Do let us know what you find (y)

Cheers i will do!

If your car has Stop Start, they are fussy about battery voltage.
Make sure you get a Stop Start rated battery. An "ordinary" battery will be OK, but the Stop Start won't work. Tayna are pretty good on price and delivery.

Cheers yep I got a stop start battery ordered, do you know if the doblo cargo has a radio code? I'm just checking before I disconnected battery. Cheers! Tom.

Mine is an MPV. Had a standard Fiat radio/CD player.
No code.
I don't think they have codes because of the Stop Start.

BTW. If you've not had S/S for a while, its an utterly pain in the neck! Stopping when the engine isn't warm etc. I try to habitually turn it off as soon as I start the engine! I've coded it out on my other car.

Radio is recognised by the body computer as 'part of the build'..

So shouldnt ask for a code.

I fitted a new battery and it didnt need a code it i just had to input time and date.

Also, new battery diddnt sort the daytime running light fault out :-( I also cleaned the earth up when I fitted it.

Oh dear lol, I'm running out of ideas now!

Taking a step back..

Is it just a scrolling message on the dash panel.. or do you have a 'bulb.check' light on

My punto DRL failure just gave a beep and a message

Sometimes the symbols can be misleading

Do you have easy (cheap..) access to getting body fault codes read?

As an example I got errors for Fuel temperature..

It turns out codes gave me :

Water in fuel..and Fuel temp.

It was just I bad sensor.. on the fuel filter

Does it run any better with the new battery?

Used it enough for S:S to function..??

Hi varescrazy, I not had chance to see if it runs better yet or stop start function works as Its at the garage getting a spring bush replaced at the moment ready for the MOT coming soon.

It just beeps and a yellow triangle and check daytime running lights fault comes up.

I have the daytime running lights turned off on the menu.

I have an ODB scanner and no faults come up.
