Can anyone tell me how to change the cassette player in a Doblo 1.2 sx. I have read several comments on here but the stereo seems to be quite a large one that is in now, and i was wondering where i could get a conversion plate from as most stereos are smaller in depth than mine. Also i am worried about the space as most of you seem to be having trouble getting them in. Should i go to halfrords and get it fitted and let them struggle or not. Only thing is i can purchase a much cheaper stereo on ebay.

If i get another blaupunkt one will that make things easier.

It is driving me mad not being able to listen to my mp3. Who has cassettes these days . NO ONE

hi i fitted my kenwood head unit with iso leads and put cd changer cable and sub cables in no probs i used some tin snips to take a small piece out of the bottom of the kenwood metal mounting cage so i could slide the bulky wiring in the void underneath so all fits good :) wouldnt be too sure about halfords spotty young boy who has no patience mite fit it :p

Hi, i was advised to go to my local Motor World who agreed to fit my cd player for me there and then. He charged me £20 which i thought was worth it after reading all the trouble that people had had fitting differnent stereos. He fitted it in about 5 mins, i was shocked. The old one just came out and the new one just fitted straight in. I plumped for a Panasonic motorised tilt front wma/mp3 player. What a difference. It cool. Its in Black to fade in with the black surround. Thanks

They do pop in and out with units which aren't very deep in size.

My Pioneer is a powerful unit with lots of features, coupled with the wiring for my iPod and Sub I had to take the dash apart to fit it ;)

Also Halfrauds do free fitting on most of their stereos so if anyone doesn't want to have a go let them have the hassle!

It's a real pity that Fiat don't make a larger pod - there's certainly plenty of room for it. I think the current pod is too small as it sits too far inside a recess.
If/when I get some free time I'm tempted to make a larger pod out of MDF
