I have the standard crap stereo (with no back speakers) in the Bravo 1.4 12v I want to get another sterio, put in back speakers and maybe upgrade the frontdoor ones.. (just standard £100-150 cd player)

so I need to go to fiat and get the current stereo removed?
buy speakers 5x7 (Front) and 13cm (Rear)?
Buy Sterio
find the cable in the boot? (Or is that just for cd changers? (thread rear cables thtough car)?

Any help appreciated?

Also are there any sites around that can explain general or bravo sterio instal and talk me through amps, bass boxes etc.... idiot fashion??

Thanks

Geoff

Hi Geoff...

Try this page..
http://home.planet.nl/~bertjes/mareaeng.html
For a step-by-step guide on an install in a Fiat Marea which from a stereo point of view is identical...

Your old head unit needs to be removed, so you can..
1) take it to Fiat (as I did) and get them to pull it out for you which takes less than 5 mins and Usually doesn't cost. OR
2) remove it yourself, if you look through the previous pages on here you'll find posts about how to do it using feeler gauges.

Front Speakers are 5"x7" but practically no-one makes them so buy or make an adapter to fit 13cm ones (download a template from the site above). May want to put some sound proofing in the doors as well Fiats have a tnedancy to rattle especially when you've upgraded the speakers and power output.

Rear speakers when fitted are 13cm ones but you'll need to run cables first. The back comes off the glovebox from inside to help feeding the cables to the new head unit. Then down the side of the car (passenger side easiest) but BE CAREFUL taking the plastic kickplates off as they break easily. Then go under the rear seat and into the boot.

Amps and Subs etc. are more complicated so a bit more specific and fire away !

Hope this helps
