Hi, just bought a Fiat Bravo and it's great except the stereo.

The main problem is i want an AUX in, checked this forum and found alot of guides but my stereo have Blue and Me (s**t) so there was no AUX menu.

So, im just wondering if i could for example buy on of those Chinese Fiat Bravo Gps/dvd/ cdplayer /Aux/MP3 stereos with LCD screens you find on ebay , and just plug it in?

OR could i just buy a random 2-din stereo and then a panel for fiat bravo (so it doesn't look like s**t).

the biggest problem is that there is alot of different stereos so i don't know if the ISO cable will fit, or if there is and adapter for it, so that i can purchase any stereo i like.

I don't care if i loose the functions on the wheel.

Any help is appreciated

You would prefer an aux in to blue and me? You obviously don't know how to use it correctly. Blue and me is much better than Aux in, not only sound quality but the ability to use steering wheel controls to access music. Skip tracks. Volume etc.

That's a bit condescending. :bang: Maybe he has a genuine reason to want an Aux in. I know I have, and will swap out the factory head unit asap.

Basically, anyone wanting to play music from their android phone will need either an Aux in or A2DP via bluetooth which the standard headunit is not capable of even with blue&me. Putting my music on to USB sticks is not an option as I use Spotify.

Sorry, utter BS.

B&M frankly is ****!

Aftermarket head unit with decent iPod connectivity will **** all over B&M until the cows come home.

B&M doesn't even support A2DP.

Aux is so much easier to use. But can you play music with Blue and Me? I didn't find anything about it.

Tried another stereo today but it didn't evfen turn on, probebly because i didin't have and extra cable / adapter between the stereo and the ISO cable.

cheapest sulution atm is an FM transmitter.....

or try buy one of those chinese Fiat stereos and hope that it works...

I think you have two possible solutions before you end up buying a new stereo:

1) If you're playing you're music from an ipod, just buy the Blue&me ipod adapter.
2) If you need an AUX in and could do without the blue&me alltogether, you can unplug the blue&me from the back of the stereo and replace it with an AUX cable. This will be more of a mod though but it's been done before (check https://www.fiatforum.com/bravo/224536-fitting-aux.html)

In both cases you won't be able to play music via bluetooth, but at least you'll be keeping the original stereo which integrates with dash very well in terms of looks.

I'm sorry what can be easier than plugging your phone. In and having all you music at your fingertips whilst driving. And whoever said they can't use spotify is wrong. I use Deezer on my iPhone. Which is exactly like Spotify. I shuffle the song and press play from my phone within the app. The car plays the song and I can still skip my tracks using the steering wheel.

Granted you can't play the songs through Bluetooth but by plugging it in you have a better solid connection and the added bonus that it charges your device as you drive as well. Win win.

Why can't you just plug the phone into the USB port using it's data cable?

Because I'm using android and it doesn't work like an iPhone. The whole world does not revolve around Apple!

No, you can't read the mp3s off android. My last post should have had a smiley after the exclamation mark ?

Is there not an option on androids that lets you flick into storage mode or something like that? I hear many people say how amazing Android is I'd of thought this was pretty basic stuff for a decent operating system. Now that I have that knowledge I can understand why you would want a different radio. That being said. My experience with blue and me and my iPhone is excellent. I never have an issue and absolutely love how it all works.

The problem with android is that Google allow manufacturers to mess with the standard os, this makes it difficult for hardware providers to write software that will work with all android devices with apple it's easy one hardware supplier one os to work with. Personally I don't know why manufacturers mess with android in its pure form it's fine and all this annoyance would be avoided. The up side of android is of course that you can get far more affordable apps on it than iOS

I think you have two possible solutions before you end up buying a new stereo:

1) If you're playing you're music from an ipod, just buy the Blue&me ipod adapter.

But the adapter is still a very poor interface. Selecting songs etc is a very slow and drawn out process in comparison to a lot of interfaces.

80gb+ of music is a lot to shuffle through if you want a specific song / ablum.

I'm sorry what can be easier than plugging your phone. In and having all you music at your fingertips whilst driving.

But this isn't the case, I could never get podcasts to work with B&M, and its slow and cumbersome to select your desired music, change the iPod from shuffle songs/albums no shuffle etc.

For some who want the basics yes it'll be ok, but for those who want more it is very restrictive and lacking from experience.

Yup I admit that, unless you spend a lot of time organizing the music, it is somewhat cumbersome. I was just stating what his options were apart from getting a new stereo all together.
