Possibly...but you will have to contend with all the problems associated with DPFs:

And I'm told that cars whose DPFs have been removed are likly to fail the MOT in future.

DPF's are a lot less hassle than a Selespeed box. When a DPF goes wrong you only loose a little power, when a Selespeed goes wrong your left stranded in the middle of nowhere with a car that doesn't know what gears are.

Hi all, just read up about that DPF thing and don't think it's a worry for me as I always drive flat out. Can really help it as I have always driven like this, maybe I will cool down with age lol.
Well to be honest, after talkin to my uncle who is car mad he said just sell the stilo and buy another car, so think I will buy a Audi a3 auto but try and get a trip tronic one, plus put a chip and a new standard k and n filter.
But all is in the air at the minute as I'm stuck s
Wat to do plus I hate paying extra for insurance.

whatever car you go for make sure you get a test drive. my mum used to have a vauxhall with their semi auto type box on it (tiptronic type thing) and it was terrible.

You put your foot down and the car would slow a bit then decide what gear it wanted to be in and then change into that gear. made overtaking tricky.

just thinking the Bravo may use a similar system to the ashtray

Well a few years back I drove a Mazda 2 and it had a trip tronic gear box but just on the stick. And it could be either auto or use the stick to change gears. I have to say it was bloody brilliant, the best gearbox I have driven. It went up when you wanted and down, with no jerking or hesitation ( amazing little car )
But I'm not having a Mazda haha.

as MEP said they do a dual logic MJet 120bhp bravo, can pick em up for about 7-8k now, and I'm pretty sure they can be mapped to the sport standard, the 150s with the manual box are pushing out 220bhp so you should get about 170-180 from the 120 stock, I hear they are rapid and can vouch for the car as I've got the 1.4 dynamic, its basically a tweaked stilo in a new suit :D

have to say that sound good. for some reason i like fiat, its my second one and i always tell people to fu*k off when they say there rust buckets and sh*t.

im sure you could get it more than 150bhp, but to be honest fiat aint known to be good automatic cars as i have watched them on top gear.

the only car i will have will be one that has a good auto box and wont break down.

plus can pick up a porsche auto for about 6k but that will be petrol.

so my mind is all over the place coz i like sporty cars and they have to look the part and most of all have to be fast.

... for some reason i like fiat...

that will be u thats got the bug now then (im on my 5th;))

...i always tell people to fu*k off when they say there rust buckets and sh*t...
dont listen to em. if they actually knew anything about fiats they'd realise the 'rust issues' was pretty much a Lancia trait and the engines were crap cos countless alfas had cooling issues... im yet to find definitive evidence that fiats are crap but maybe im not looking hard enough or i just dont want to/cant believe it!
