Here in my country Just de variator cost 250 Pounds, too expensive for me.

I really apreciate some advice.
Thanx.

The long term damage will be costing you more.

If the variator is this expensive, why don't you ship it in?

I'm really thinking to do thatm thanx for the advice.
Can you please recommend me a website to buy it?
I will try to look for some courier who can bring it all the way from UK to Guatemala.

shop4parts.co.uk offers good prices but pretty sure they wont ship to Guatemala.

My UPS carrier will ship for about £75 (that's express too and I'm assuming weight is about 5 Kgs) so your total is going to be something like £170

PM if you think it's worth saving £80 but watch you don't get caught by import tax in your home country.

The variator is no more than 1kg even with packaging.

Back to the original question lol, how much time can I use the car with this variator problem? The car has 37,500 miles, I need at least 2 months, because the time belt kit, variator and labor is at least 570 pounds, need time to save the money lol :bang:

I just talk with the Mechanic and he told me, than he never know a case than the variator cause a major problem, just the Diesel noise when starting the engine, he work a lot with Lancia, Alfa and Fiat cars, so I think he know a lot of these cars.

They will check the time belt, and if the belt is fine, we can hold until the timing kit need change :)

Thanx Argonought and Oldschool for the great help, I´ll keep you update.
