not try to scare you 500 owners, i was in my local fiat dealer to check delivery of my Bravo, then we chat about the 500s.
The sales guy told me Fiat suggest 9 hrs to change a head gasket on the 500s (forgot which engine he referenced to.) if what he asid was right, it will cost around £630 + parts +vats to just to change a head gasket, scary~~~

In that case, extension of warranty wouldn't be a bad idea although prices are not known yet. Again, no indication of servicing costs other than servicing plans - £711 for 1.2 petrol version for 3 yrs/36,000 miles!!

Just how many of us 500 owners will keep their cars once warranty has lapsed?

I get a 500 Sport 1.2 early May, and time will tell whether an Abarth 500 is on the list next!

Extended warranty is the same as service plans. I'll bet you dealer does one cheaper than Fiat does. ;)

So you are saying extension of warranty for 3 yrs is £711? If so

Don't know if and when dealer might or might not do this, after all my e-mails and texts has gone unanswered since March 1. Don't know what status my 500 Sport 1.2 is, having ordered on 2nd February.

Will have to chase up in next few days.

You ordered your 500 a week before me, mine is still no build date yet... be interested to hear what yours is.

That's unusual. Mines was status 10 on 11th February, and have been assured it is on track for early May.

Let's hope I get answers next week. Electric glass sunroof has been ordered BUT recently the 500 configurator shows it is not offered on Sport. Again, will have to ask dealer what the position on this is.

 I hope they do not use cheap head gaskets then

does everyone want a laugh now

as you may or may no know this engine the 1.3 multijet is also being used in the new vauxhall corsa and other models

and some of the affected head gaskets have gone into vauxhall engines

so dyou wana know what vauxhall are doing with the affected engines

ABSOLUTELY NOTHIN

as far as there concerned if it goes in the warranty period ok and if not then hard luck

so personally i think fiat have done well to catch a great number of affected vehicles and get them sorted with not to much fuss

vauxhall don't seem to care atall
