General centre console help!

just found out today about the centre console you gan get for the punto mk 2 and i want one!:worship:

l have a mk2 sporting looks just like itd been took out of a sporting mate should fit your car if its a mk2

its easy to remove its just a few screws and thats it

should fit however the part where the gear box surround is joins onto the casing that covers the handbrake part too which is a seperate item but i think u can modify the old one to fit

just been looking at my car and it looks like i'd need to replace the plastic around my handbrake... has anyone done this before, replaced their centre console with a sporting one?

well, from looking at the pick it doesnt look like the one im going to be getting as the cd player is below where the heater controls are, im sure someone will have one, mine looks like this one ur getting but doesnt join onto the gearbox

but if i was to order the sporing center console for an elx model i would have to buy a different enclosure for the handbrake? could i get this from fiat easily?

i thought that bit was the same on a mk2.

my pic above isnt a standard sporting one it was option on a sporting but standard on a HGT, if you just want standard sporting silver one, just take yours out and spray it

the sporting one comes down from the dashboard and past the gearstick.

the one on my elx goes to the floor and the gearstick is in the same enclosure as the handbrake. Its not just a matter of spraying my one silver, its a different design.

find a breakers with a hgt, then go buy the lot off them you can move the head unit down and get a shelf to go where the original was for about £10 from fiat, or leave it where it is and get a shelf for the lower hole from a mk1 selecta

ok dave dont know about the breakers near you but where i live there aint many mk2> punto HGT or sportings.

Also a shelf you say to cover the hole where the cd player goes :chin: i aint seen one of these but sound handy, although i will be putting a dvd screen in its place anyway

just a quick question and need a quick answer

just spoke to grays of warwick (fiat garage), they don't know anything about replacing the centre console but they said it might be different because the cars these consoles come off have air conditioning? they can order me all the parts though.

just need to know if i can still fit the centre console onto mine as my elx doesn't have air con... anyone know?

ok spoke to them again and now they say there is a black version and a silver one! Never seen a black sporting one before...

maybe they have it mixed up with a punto 2.5?

ok, i just need to know if i buy the sporting centre console, will it fit on my 2000 model elx? Just need to be 100% certain before i order as they say they can't send it back and its £150 for the whole set...

do the full sets come on ebay though? all thats on there at the mo are the dashboard part to it, with no gear lever or handbrake enclosure... if they do come on there i guess i'll wait, £150 is a little steep.

will any sporting centre console fit in my elx? the bloke at fiat was on about a button for air con on it?!

thanks but i've just ordered a sporting one i found, oh well... quite like the sporting one anyway and it was only £50!

found a few bargains lately, a set of sporting alloys for £200 and now this :yum:
