My 57 plate 120 multijet is showing that the drivers door is not closed, if I remove the locking mechanism is there anything that I can do to address this ?,

my second problem, I have fitted a radio/cd player from another Fiat vehicle, everything works but when in radio or cd mode I get a bleep ever second ?

My drivers door is also randomly showing that the door is open/ajar. Just started doing it. Driving me nuts! How is this activated? And how is it repaired/adjusted? Thanks!

I may have solved my own problem! While researching this, I found a post that indicated that the switch mechanism is inside the lock mechanism? My sliding doors were also not closing properly without slamming. So I got out my trusty Inox spray lubricant, and lubed my side doors and both my front doors. Especially around the lock/door striker mechanisms. Well during my work day as a delivery driver, I had zero issues with the drivers door! I am in and out of my van over 100 times per day, so the door gets a lot of use!
So maybe the first port of call, is simply to lube the door lock mechanism!

Glad to hear you solved it matey.....

One of the first things I did when I got my van was to check and lube all the doors and locks. Having read about the dreaded swivelling barrel curse of the scudo.

Cheers

Yeah. Looks like I'll have to add it to my maintenance schedule. She is only coming up to her 75000 k service, so not very old!

Ok, the door ajar fault has returned with a vengeance! It maybe the actual lock mech. unit. Is there a good source to purchase a replacement? Or can I eke some more life out if it by doing a DIY repair?
