Center Exit Exhaust, is it possible?

The reason i ask is because i am getting a custom cat back system in the next few days and the guy said we will have to get it up and look at our options, its either a center exit or duplex system i want.

The duplex will be too expnsive so will go for the center one but does the spare tyre "tub" sit low down or anything stopping them from putting a center one in, it would be nice to know what to expect when it goes up to take a look.

So to the point :p is a center one possible???

hehe, never seen that one before :) ok cool, its game on for that then, cant wait, not sure whether to get a boxster style single oval or a double 4" in the center.

Just take note of where the silencer boxes are...

what do you mean?

Just that its a twin system and the silencer boxes are mounted on the outside of the car (not straight up the middle), then the exits are re-routed to the center...

oh i see, might have to do that with mine then :( i really want a centre one, something a bit differant

Seb thats the only way to do it for a central exhaust system because of the room, well lack of room anyway.

Do like Mr Al has done and get a rear defuser this will hide the silencer box out of view.

I was told that it was the fuel tank that was in the way, not the spare wheel well?? It is the same as what smee has, the exhaust trims have just been moved to the centre from the left.

Yes it will be the same as smee's.

The fuel tank is not in the way of a central system.

It only effect the fuel tank when you go for quadplex exhaust system as the fuel tank is quite close to the rear bumper. A quadplex can be done though just a little more time and thought has to go into it.

damn, booked in for thursday, looks like i might not be able to go for a centre then or a duplex if its that hard :( might have to stick to a standard place back box and just go for a a decent lookin back box

The fuel tank is in the way, it extends under the spare wheel well.

ok, cheers tom, thats a pain in the arse and will just have to let them get it up on the ramp so i can assess my options

Just stick your head under the rear bumper, the big black plastic thing is the fuel tank.

That is a HGT and not a 1.8. Whether the fuel tanks are in a different location, I don't know. Chances are not though.

Same tank in the HGT and 1.8. The 1.2/4/6 tank is just as long.
