Hello

I just bought a bravo 1.4 SX (1998)
The radio unit has a radio and tape deck but also seems to have CD control ??

Can I get a CD player fitted to this ( there doesnt seem to be any space )

or is that for a boot changer ? Is it expencive to but a boot changer ? any infor and advice on this would be much appriciated.

Thanks
Alan

its for a cd changer, but u can remove that stereo and fir any after market stereo in it place. u just need a face adapter about £14 in halfords but they r a dodgie fit, some 1 on here sells them with a fake face to hide ur new fancy stereo

I have an 80sx.. Priced up the cd changers but found them a bit on the expensive side...
Ended up getting a facia and fitting a standard cd player instead...

If you are reading this post then click on back!!

Finish reading first, at the top of a title page there is a link to a good preiced Changer supplier,

The 6 disc changer fits unfer the rear seat and pokes through the carpet (when cut out) in the middle below the rear seats!

Re: Re: Re: CD Player ??

Before you go out buyin a cd changer, check under the back seat behind the drivers seat. Thats where mine was hidden for 3 months before I found it. For 3 months I was listening to tapes that I had copied CD's on to, then by chance I had to put the back seats down to collect something, and hey presto, there was a 6 disc multi changer staring me in the face.
Its worth a look.

I have the mark two Bravo (s - 98) which didn't come with a changer. So, I bought a cd changer and a cable from two people on here for £45.

Still haven't fitted it though, I have been told getting the cable from the headunit to the boot is a pain!!!

Re: Re: CD Player ??

yep real pain. i did mine with out unscrewin my dash runnin it down the drivers side, night mare it was hours spent there feeding it down.

if u do go for it, to go down drivers side remove stereo, and to the right hand wall u will find a hole going back on ur self u got to feed it down there, and some how wind it at same time as i had foam inserts down there aswell. comes out just next to the heater control but behind the dash, so lay on the floor and look up from the pedals.

Where u Live??? i live in norfolk ill do it for u if u have problems.

Re: Re: Re: CD Player ??

i ran my changer wire down the passenger side. If you take the panel out the top of teh glove box there is a clear hole to teh radio compartment. Ran the wire through there then down the other side of the glovebox, along under the sill, under the plastic at the back and into teh boot. Really easy!

Re: Re: Re: Re: CD Player ??

Mine took about 30 mins

Removed the pannel in the passenger footwell as to gain access to the back of the dash(I had previously fitted an interface)
Removed the rear seat (3 bolts) so I could get my hand under the carpet.
Removed the rear ashtray, Handbrake gaiter, gear stick gaiter and coin tray, and loosend the scews that hold down the centre consoll.
Passed the wires from the rear seat under the carpet to the rear ashtray.
Ran them straight through the centre consoll(from the rear ahsrtay to the front astray) and into my inter face. Or straight up to your stereo.
Tightened everything back up.

Piece of ****

Hope this helps
