Just a random question; when waiting in the car do you guys run the stereo off the battery or let the car idle ?

The Uno doesn't have a low battery warning light when just the electrics are on does it ? As it's permanently on (like the oil light) when the engine isn't actually running.

Running a standard head unit (4x25watts for instance) off just the battery will be fine for short periods. It's only when you run big ICE systems with amps and subs that you are at risk of draining the battery without the engine running. Make sure your battery isn't on its last legs though before trying this!

If you have a Blaupunkt stereo - even a Heidelburg cassette tuner that I bought off Trademe for $1 - you can switch-on when the ignition key (and red-wire power feed) is off. The stereo also goes on and off with the ignition. It even switches off after 20 minutes when the key is off. Things like this, and auto night dimming, seperate the European stereos from the Japanese :)
