i am thinking of getting a new cd player, but was wondering if you can get one where i can plug in my mp3 player and listen to the music off it. and if so, which is a good player (upto about £200).
The majority of the new sony headunits have AUX inputs for MP3 players etc, and come in well below your 200 pound budget. My GF has this one, and i cant find much wrong with it:
You have to be careful with these though, from looking into this from my old sony headunit, just using an adaptor lead wouldnt work on some units - you needed to buy a powered AUX input box and cabling. I think this is more for the Unilink type autochangers on the older headunits. the majority of the newer ones usually have AUX in as standard (RCA inputs)
All kenwoods with changer control work with the adapter lead, as i was told in road radio...
I have an FM Modulator which plugs in... doesn't sound absolutely crystal clear at high volume but it only cost £30 from motorworld and will work with any HU...

most of the blaupunt units have a connector on the back where you can plug in a cable ending iin phono or 3.5mm jack plug - not quite as pretty as having aux in on the front, I fed the cable down thru the back and into the glovebox - u can put your device into the glove or if you want to change controls when driving, pull the cable out the glove box and put the player on the passenger seat. I got mine from blue spot - this is the page that has the cable, I got the 1st one on the list - and I'm well pleased with my HU, I got the slightly older version of the dresdon and it rocks
