CD MP3 Player Remotes

I'm buying an CD/MP3 Player for my Brava,It has a remote control with it, now maybe i'm missing something here, but why the hell would i need a remote control for something i'm only sitting 6" away from ?
(and before you say i'm talking about the cd player here, nothing else )

but you can have fun at traffic lights, by controlling other peoples radios

i had one and it was very useful when setting up the stereo in the back of my old car. Then some cnut broke in and stole the remote!

nearly as pointless as the time they broke in and stole an empty cd case! or when they broke inandstole a padlock with no key! I'm telling you, they're sharp out here!
