Hust thought I would post up about the Angel eyes I fitted after being unsatisfied by the brightness of the LED ones I made. Basically I bought a CCFL kit for a Mazda 6 from Hong Kong (notoriously unreliable but I went for it as it was cheap) and used 4 of the rings. I havent noticed a difference in the beam pattern but it must have been affected by fitting the lights as they sit in the recess in front of the projector lens reflector, I'm sure MOT man will let me know come the time! Does not affect my driving or other peoples so I'm not too worried!
Anyway, first I cut out the lens with a dremel, offered up the rings I had to see which ones fitted (Hong Kong kit came with 6 identical rings :bang: so had to make do).
Then siliconed them into the recess' of the reflectors (tec7's trans7).
Fed the wires through the spare connector hole for the fog light.
Fed another two wires through the same whole and spliced onto the side light power and ground wires.
This meant the Inverter could be outside the unit (Hong Kong unit = Going to blow up) so it would be easily replaced.
Tested and happy
Fitted lenses back on with trans7 again(could do with a refurb at some stage)
Fitted onto car and heres the results if anyone wants to have a go!
CCFL ring:
Siliconed in:
And again (can't see white wire when fitted):
Inverter fitted outside Unit:
Cloudy day:
Cloudy Day again (need a better camera!):
Another:
Night with added dirt and condensation:
C+C welcome!
