Cassette stuck - HELP!!

Rarely play cassettes any more, but.......
I've managed to get one jammed in the standard head unit in my S reg 1.6 SX. Screen comes up with "tape error". Eject don't work.
Is there any way of removing without removing head unit!

I had this on my old unit, I removed the flappy thing that covers the cassette hole (it's a real pain in the arse to get back in )
Then I got a pair of pliers and while pressing the eject button I kept pulling the cassette till it came out.
If that doesn't work then take the old head unit out, chuck it in the bin and get a decent one

Mine did the same! I found by getting my fingernail be hind the button and pushing really hard, it ejected. The button is connected to a skinny bit of plastic which pushes a microswitch on the right hand side of the radio. The switch is fragile and tends to move with usage.

Thanks Pete, but it's not electrical, it's mechanical.
Sort of goes through the motions, whirrs, clicks, that sort of thing. Will have to try the pliers suggested by Martin, or take it out.
