Forgot to mention yesterday (sorry). Asda are doing Casino Royale for £7 whilst stocks last.

If people didn't, films wouldn't be made which would mean you couldn't illegally acquire them.

If people didn't, films wouldn't be made which would mean you couldn't illegally acquire them.

Or they would have to seriously re-think their costs in order to be profitable.

Actors aren't doing millions worth of work per film. I could name hundreds of more worthwhile jobs. When film stars are on under my wages I'll feel sorry for them.

Meanwhile, I'll continue to 'preview' films before buying or going to cinema.

You're making the assumption that actor's costs are the only fees in a film, which is absolute BS, so whilst you illegally download films to avoid paying the costs "because actors earn too much", you're also stealing from everybody else, the mass majority even. It's not about harming the actors by downloading, it's about harming every single person involved, go ahead and steal from them though if you can live with that, but don't go complaining if anybody ever steals from you.

you're assuming illegal downloads actually harm anyone or anything. they do not. check the figures, even though millions of people download for free the movie industry still makes millions from every successful movie. their success and profitablilty is still based on the 'quality' of the movie. downloads make no noticable difference. why should i feel guilty if they make millions and there is no victim?

Oh the old "no victim" argument. A complete paradox and utter BS, I refuse to even give a proper reply to it.

Back onto topic, Asda have Casino Royale at £7 for people who don't want to steal. :)

face? bovvered?

I said I will use the illegal downloads as a preview. I'll buy the film or go and see it if I think it's worth it.

I'm not paying money to watch a crap film. End of.

You've got that wrong Paul, it should be either:

Asda have Casino Royale at £7 for people who don't want to commit copyright infringement.

Or:

Asda have Casino Royale at £0 for people who do want to steal.

:p

It is the same thing though, but yes, if you can't be bothered to download then it is equally available at £0 from Asda, although you're much more likely to be caught :)

I take onboard the just download it arguement yeah but some peeps appreciate slip cases, art work, clever animated menus and excellent picture quality and sound (yeah downloads can be good too I'm not thick)

The film industry is still making a fair whack cos D'Ling isn't as wide spread as you think, how many 30+year olds do you know D'Loading flicks? Not many?

At £7 for a 2 discer not even a barebones release it's more than a bargain, I bought one, why? It would be around £3 or £3.50 to rent it so not much more to own if I like it, my net connection ain't really upto the job of dloading large files like those in cities and cable areas.

I chuckle to myself when I go to some mates houses and they say yeah I've got that and they take a DVD-R out of big wallet, yeah you could laugh at me for buying dvd's but I like the packaging and consider it a hobby rather than being in the pub four days a week.

Liam

ill be buying it tonight, yeah i could download it easily enough, but like liam i like having a good collection of dvds on show...

plus im a bit of a bond geek and have almost all of them on either dvd or vhs already

is it really 7 quid in tesco? i was there last night and it was £9 if bought with another chart title

*Apparently* it was on TV that tesco are going to do it at that price today, though as you say, yesterday it was £9 w/ another piece of media, so maybe it's £7 today with another piece of media?

I was told Asda expect more stocks tomorrow, but I don't know whether that's true.
