Has anyone put a PC in their Bravo....I'm currently in the process of doing it and just wondered if anyone else has and if so where've the mounted the PC?

I'm planning on putting the PC in the glove box and running a 7" Lilliput Touchscreen...doing away with the need of a keyboard and mouse.

need more info

power source?

motherboard size?

where u gonna mount the screen?

u cant do away with the keyboard... every time i remove mine it wont get pass the boot up sequence unless thats my duff pc playing up lol

if i am honest i dont think its fits in the glove box as there is a cylinder behind it that is to do with the heater

powersourse is a 600watt soft start inverter with 1500watt peak in mine but given the chance again id put a 12v powersupply in instead less drain on battery and can be left on when u take the keys out for hours :), if u run an inverter u need to put a relay on it... 30A should be fine and for the switch easiest thing to use is ur remote lead from stereo ;)

try and mount the motherboard flat and cable tie or elastic band the grahic card in TIGHT

the hard drive need to be hung... via the ide cable this will stop the needle distroying the hard drive over bumps

i used stereo jack to phono leads for my stereo to get teh sound through it but thats head unit dependant

if u want to run more screens like i have u need a BOOSTER SPLITTER about £40 ebay

if u have sun visor screens of tft that dont take VGA cable u need to buy a trust Televiewer V2 or simular

thats about all i can say with out more info...

i have media car installed for software and i also have the fiat skin if u want it ill send it u as u cant get it no more... there using something else now

Classic PC Error, from the old DOs 4.0 days.

Roll on DOS 6.22.. uh, errr.. I mean Vista.

Keyboard Error : Press F2 to resume

Erm, with no keyboard plugged in? - Turn keyboard detection off :)

Smee, would you be able to give me some more info on how you handle start up and shutdown? I know if you used a dc-dc psu they have ways of handeling this, but with an inverter, how did you go about it? Does your computer start up when you turn the ignition on? If so, do you have a button to manualy turn it on/off too?

Cheers for any help!

Well, carputers fitted and working. Opted for the screen and laptop combo in the end purely cos it was an absolute doddle to wire up and from a security point of view it can all be removed and hidden away. Laptop has a continuous power supply so it's not dependant on the battery.

Am well chuffed :D

There's honestly nothing worth seeing as I left the glove box in tact. I just stuck the laptop under the passenger seat where the CD changer normally sits then ran the screens VGA cable and laptops power supply under the carpet up through the dash.

Can take pictures later on when I get in from work but like I say nowt of interest other than a seat with a laptop under it, lol.

re

when i looked into it thats exactly what i thoguht i would do! a lot easier than trying to pick lots of different components and can always whip it into the house to transfer anything if you haven't got wireless or a long cable!

and HDD more ready for shocks etc.
