in simple terms...
its basically a computer in a car
can be used for all the same things as a usual comp plus navigation etc.

I must sincerely apologise for my ignorance in spelling on my earlier post! I did not realise this would cause a problem. I did, however, assume that nobody would really care and even if they did would think to themselves 'hey it's 1 a.m, this guy must be tired!'

best thing about a carputer is for music, 10's of albums available to you at the tip of your finger.
video games for your passengers.
dvd player.
hook up a web cam for reverse parking.
gps nvigation.
hook up your mobile for web browsing.
