Just done a search but couldn't find anything soooo,

i just went out to move my car and turned the key, and noticed no glow plug heater light on. waited a bit, turned the key and nothing but a beep and security error on the display. Got out , locked/unlocked the car a few times, got the spare key, and eventually got the glow plug light on and car started but its now come up engine fault.

When i turned the ignition off and removed the key the engine was still running! It turned off when i turned the key again.

I am guessing that as i had the car cleaned earlier it is water in the electrics somewhere which won't dry out for a while.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi ... I've just got my car back after 7 weeks, it's been a nightmare.
Bought the car in late Sept, and she was a constant lemon with full fault/warning light clusters. Put new exhaust on, full strip down service, crankshalf senor and 4 winter tyres... got rid of all faults for one month... but still was coming up with loose connection, security fault ... and kept locking out. I thought that rain was getting into my electrics as she always wouldn't start after it had poured down or I'd washed her...

Then 7 weeks ago ... I couldn't force her to start, and she was towed to the autoelectrians.

And the ECU nightmare began...
1. The original ECU was sent down south to check for faults... they couldn't find a fault, so they sent it to their head office in Holland to investigate. They did find a fault.. but couldn't repair it.
2. A Virgin Plug and Play (recon) was bought - Car still wouldn't start. This was returned and re checked - it had a fault
3. Second Virgin Plug and Play fitted - Car started, but was displaying a fault with the crankshalf sensor (though a new one had been fitted 4 days previously to her braking down). Unit was returned as it was proved to be faulty!
4. Both me and the autoelectrian were having hissy fits... so he bought a new ECU and replaced my relays...

The car drives like a dream now! Been driving her for 6 days, and she has started first time every time with no faults or warning lights ... except for the warning that there's ice on the road..:)

Find a good local autoelectrican to test the ECU (Fiat can get you a recon for about £500 and a new £950 - though it's cheaper if you can get your original repaired... but word of warning the ECU is a complicated circuit, and the reason my original ECU was faulty was that the orginal owner had had it repaired previously ... badly ...(n)

It looks like my problems has been caused by my on error. The car had been sat around for 6 weeks and this initially flattened the battery. i charged the battery up and used the car with the battery cover off.

i then jet washed the car yesterday still with the battery cover off. i am now searching for D4 connection cures.
