Car troubles... help!! :( mk 2 punto

Hiya everyone,

I'm in need of a little bit of help. Was wondering if anyone has had the same problems as me. My cars a 3 door 1.2 8v 02 plate and has recently been shuddering quite noticeably when shifted up to 3rd gear, in particulary when it hits 35mph and then settles down around 45/50mph.

I've been monitoring the shudder for a few weeks and it doesnt appear to have got any worse. However, today whilst driving it when put into 3rd the car immediately seemed to rev as if I needed to shift up a gear again ( I dont have a rev counter so can't give any more details) twice at seperate times. I'm not sure if it's me being over cautious or if theres a problem with the gear box etc...

Any ideas on what the problem could be/anyone had the same trouble?? Thanks

anyhow, what type of 'shuddering' is it? is it like when your trying to pull away in a higher gear at low speeds?

as for the revs, only thing i can think is that you may of selected the wrong gear by mistake? hence the need to change up a gear quickly again...
