Technical car shutdown fault?

well as the marea has just been put back together i obviously had to check everything was working etc.

i have discovered the car shuts its self down when the temp goes too high i think, it just goes into lockdown mode and you have to wait for awhile before you can even put the ignition on!

i had to wait about for 10 minutes just to close the window!

any ideas? i think its a heat problem as i seemed to go when i poped the bonnet and diconnected the rad and heat sensors.

The first thing to ask is do you have a temp problem?
If the cooling system is working then the temp sender may be reading high.

hay polecat, the problem seems to have gone now, i beleive it was caused by an air pocket which i got rid of
