I have a original blue-tipped radio / cassette car radio in my fiat punto 2001. After a correct battery demand the radio asks for a code. How should I insert that code if the radio does not have preset keys.
or should I use the six keys next to the cassette player to enter the code

so .. you have the code.. but cannot enter it.?

If the code is only made up of the numbers 1-6 then yeah, just use the preset buttons as you would any other number button.
For example, if the code is 2362 you would press:
2-3-6-2

If the code is made up of all digits from 0-9 then use the first 4 preset buttons, pressing them the appropriate number of times.
For example, if the code is 1970 you would press:
1-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4

Edit: I just re-read your post, does your unit not have preset buttons?

The radio asks for a four-digit code, which can be looked up with the serial number, so it will be fine.
There are six keys on the cassette section, so I think I should use it to key in the code.
 
Have already found the code and the radio is working again.
