Hiya,

Does anyone know of someone who does polishing cars ect outside your home?
My Stilo really needs polishing!! Done with propper products, like clay bar polishing!!

Paintwork is looking soooo dull, being blue it is showing and look horrible!!! In places the top layer of lacka is peeling, is that possible??

Thanx

What you are describing is what is known as clear coat failure

have you got any photos?

you can upload them here

there is no real easy fix only real option is to have the affected areas re sprayed unfortunately

http://www.detailuniversity.com/for...ling/1738-what-causes-clear-coat-failure.html

its fairly common in certain areas mostly on plastic parts IE the Wing mirror housing and bumpers as they flex more leading to cracking and degradation of the clear coat which allows water in and on car's that have been shown little love and have been rammed through car washes due to the aggressiveness of the chemicals involved and things like bird dirt causing "etching" industrial fall out penetrating the clear coat then oxidizing causing damage and the weather/ sunlight doing the rest....

I wouldn't want to pay someone to clean my car set a day aside (and pray its a nice day :worship: )

if you want a few product pointers get back in touch but its not worth doing much until you have a decent surface to work on as clay will remove any poorly bonded patches of clear coat in the immediate area of any damage (y)
