Hi there, can anybody tell me what are good insurance comopanies? I have a fiat ounto 1.3 16v elx... last year on first year of driving it was 1400 to insure... this year they want 1397 with same company and it goes higher and higher... ive had no accidents no claims no points nothing so can anybody tell me who is good for young driivers?

Quinn have been placed in to administration by the Irish Govt. and are barred from taking any new UK business for the moment.
 
We're looking to insure a Spider for storage right now too and the best prices I can find on auto insurance quotes is giving us crazy prices all over the place.

Plus from what I can see, all the 'cheap' policies we've found are full of holes, including poor rental protection, which can be very bad when you're dealing with a car that doesn't like mileage and can be missing for service visits on a regular basis. :(

Do you get build up a discount if you're listing your parents as the primary drivers? My oldest pays through the nose due to a recent fender bender and we never considered getting the insurance through us?

All depends how long they stay in admin. I cannot see the new owners / existing owner if he pulls some cash from somewhere* not taking UK business.

*this is quite likely, he's a multi-millionaire and owns hotels, a health insurance business (seperate), life insurance firm (again, seperate) glass manufacturers, building products, I've even got a Quinn radiator sitting in my shed waiting for me to get around to replacing one here...

The only bit in admin is the car and home insurance division and it was put there by the state - not Quinn or a creditor.
 
I was with Quinn for several years, yeah they where the cheapest when I first passed at 18. Was £1200 for my first car, 1.2 8v mk1 punto.

But after that they are just a bloody joke. Once I had got my 3rd year no claims with them... my premium dropped a massive £2 per month!! :confused:

Always look around at every renewal

Whos car is it? And who does the most miles in it? If its your oldest and you put yourself down as the main drivers, its called Fronting...worst case...if you get caught out...insurance is void.

And 6 points, and a no insurance offence code on your license, meaning renewal will be even more ;)
