General Car automatically stalling when driving?!

SO there i was driving and just at normal speeds (around 30mph) and then randomly when lifting the accelerator the revs go down to 0 and the battery and oil light come on as if the car has stalled, then when putting it back into a lower gear the car comes alive again with no need to switch the car back on or anything. Notably i have had a problem with my gearbox for a while which makes it quite stiff to put the gears in when the car has been driven for a while, any ideas? GP 2006 1.2

I has basically the same problem with my 1.4. The dealership had BOTH of my MAP sensors replaced and that fixed the problem. Maybe look into that?

sounds daft but is there any oil in the car? this happened to me on one of my old cars and it turned out i was out of oil, schoolboy error i must admit

My car kept stalling at one point, turned out to be a small air hose under the air box, had rather a large split in it
