While I was in Poundland yesterday I saw they had stubby aerials, and because it was just a pound, I bought one for my car. The problem is, I just can't get the old one off. I'm guessing you just unscrew it off and screw the new one on? that's what it looks like anyway.

Well I've tried unscrewing it with my hands and it wouldn't budge, I even tried pliers but that didn't work.
I'm guessing it's never come off before because the woman I bought it off has had it all its life (10 years) and she's kept everything how it was (even the tape player).

Is there a special way to get it off? or am I just not strong enough?

wen i had a mk1 is jus came of.

but my mk2 is wierd, the arial and the base is a all in one, so i ended up snapping it of and leaving the thread in the base which would even come out .

so unless u ave the same one a as my mk2 or uses has like rusted together lol

Yeah mate they just screw off and on if I remember correctly.

Just spray some WD40 around the base to loosen it up a bit, but but a towel round the base to protect the paint from the oil.

and remember ANTI-clockwise is undo, its been known for people to be twisting the wrong way

This is what it's like at the moment:

I think I'll try doing what smokeyjoe said and using some WD40
