Cant get head unit out! help please!!

Whoever had the car before me has, by the look of things just tried to pull the head unit out, thus bending the catch that hold it in. one side comes out fine but the other has hooked underneath i think.

here my tremendous diagram,

anyone had this before, think of anyway to get it out?

the problem isto be able to see the catch i have to pull the unit out which then hooks the catch under more!

got a new headunit coming in a few days!

can you pull out the offending side a little, in order to get something under the front edge?

my suggestion would be to get a feeler guage or possibly a wire coat hanger and with that offending corner pulled out a bit wedge it under, then pull with your fingers in the tape deck so you can fift and pull.

failing that head on approach, try from the side you can get free with a wire coat hanger then go accross the face of the hu as to speak
