i know there is a few threads on this problem and i have looked at afew, so i would like to make a more up to date one if anyone else could help.

i have purchased canbus error free registration LED light bulbs however im on the second set after sending them back for a replacement. i still recieve the error message on the dashboard even though these have build in resistors.

was wondering if anyone could tell me which ones on ebay work perfectly and to buy, or what to do to stop the error.

cheers,

The GP is very sensitive for placing led's.
I tried a could of sets and they all gave the CANBUS error.
So I pleced some chome bulbs in there.

I heard that the EVO is less sensitive and the error free led's work without the error.

No their not bright like the LED's.
They even give less light than the original ones.
But the do not pop-out when you look at the lights.
They blend in with the chrome and that's what I wanted.

I'm getting some abarth lights sometime this week.
As I need to replace one of the holders of the light I'm gonne check if it's possible to fit a resistor somewhere. I did the same for my rear evo lights.

matty, the fitment for the led lights i have are differant to the bulbs you put the link to. iv just bought the loader now just wondering if its going to fit the led light or if it will fit within the plastic light fitment that clips into the body

always seems to do it tbh i had some in my MK2 punto and light always on i lived with it didnt bother me...i can how ever remove the LED if it bothers you lol but iv never come across a set that wont put the light on lol :)

sorry my mistake, its these i have:

and the resistors, you need to cut both connectors off so you can use the dtandard fiat waterproof connection that goes into the plastic light fitting.

i used these to connect to existing wiring:

ye not bad cheers man, so cut off the connectors on both the light load resistor and the car light wire?

You can just scotch lock them into place. You need to locate the load resistors somewhere that will take the mass of heat they emit though, so don't place them on plastic or it'll just melt away.

The link I showed for the resistors, there encased in plastic, they don't get hot I've felt after a long drive.

Mine are loose behind bumper with existing wiring, no melting occurred, been in there a year

Me bad, I didn't check the link

Actually going to get some myself for my Bravo I think (y)

Hi Guys

I had the same problem as you guys, i installed 501 8SMD Error Free Canbus LED's for the sidelights and number plate, however the bulb warning light still came on

So what i did was simple, unscrewed the dashboard fascia and then took out the dashboard completely (its very easy to do trust me). When that was out i unscrewed the back of it and was confronted by a what looked like a white motherboard with the bulbs in etc, now the bulb warning light is concealed right at the top of the dashboard and no way of just taking it out, instead i just got a small piece of card to slot into the top that would cover the bulb light if it came on during ignition.

Now this is a very easy, simple solution, i havent experienced any problems so far and now my bulb warning light is not shown, even with my so called canbus error free LED's, so you can put as many LED's as you want without spending stupid money on purchasing resistors :)

When you come to sell the car you can just take it out and hey presto your light will be working again!

It took me 10 mins tops and now i can enjoy LED's without the stupid bright warning light glaring at me :)

hi,

I'm not 100% familiar with your dashboard - but do you mean if a brakelight bulb goes ( example) , the bulb-checker lamp will no longer be visible to the driver?,

Yeah unfortunately in that sense it wont show up on the dash anymore but to be honest i had a tail light out before and i picked it up myself before the canbus system did when i saw a reflection in a shop window so to me i'm not bothered :)

The dashboard looks similar to this, you see the bright orange light at the top, when i opened it up that bit had just enough room to slide a piece of cardboard down it without pulling the white board out, then it just clips back into place with the cardboard still in place, it was a good fit :)

I only did this as i have no money and is a bodge but tbh it works great and i have had no problems, apart from obiviously not letting me know when there is a bulb out but it's easily solved by having a quick look at your lights now and then when you pass shop windows :)

I couldn't agree more, it is a pain in the back side but tbh the amount of times that i would forget to dim my lights and get angry drivers flashing at me because that blaring dashboard light isn't there reminding me anymore would be a problem so i will probs just give that a miss
