Tuning can you make an exhaust louder

I have a GP 1.9 Multijet.

I just wondered if you could make a Diesel engine exhaust loud like I know you can with a petrol engine? I just want it to sound a bit 'beefier'

Can run a tdi with no silencers at all or a completely straight through there's two baffled silencers as standard so removing will get the sound louder

is it easy to do either? and does it effect the emissions so it would pass and MOT or anything?

Buy a pipercross air filter, just fitted mine today and that sounds "beefier"

Won't affect emissions as your only removing the silencing not terribly difficult need the tools to do it though so best taking it to a specialist who can make it up
