Hey there, im looking at buying a fiat Bravo, I've read just about everything on this site about them. I went to have a look at one today, its a 1.6 Sx 1998 R with 72,000 on the clock.

First off, under the bonnet there was a plastic-y thing right at the front of the engine, which appeared to have an air intake in it. Half of this thing had broken off but not the air intake bit. The woman who was selling it said it wasn't a problem - but is it??

Secondly there was a slight rattling noise from the back left whilst driving - is this a common problem with the Bravo?

Last I offered £750, do you think this is reasonable - too much too high? It was in reasonable nick with a few scratches etc..

Cheers guys, much appreciated!

The plasticy thing I assume is the shroud that covers the radiator and feeds the air intake. I couldn't say if damage to it is significant thought I'm sure some-one else on here will be clued up. If it is that it shouldn'e be too hard to pick one up from a scrapper for £10-20.

Left rear rattling could be the back seat catch. (see guide on this site).

I'd say personally that for a good running 1.6, £750 is a damn good buy but i'm prejudice. Just watch out for the injectors.
