Why does he say that the reserve is met, but it isnt?

Very strange...

Also, the guy who has the highest bid, has also cancelled it!!!!

No, he is still the highest bidder at £1,800.
He retracted a £2,500 bid.

But if he cant afford the insurance, surely he wants ALL his bids cancelled??

He has £700 to play with now he has lowered his highest bid. (£2,500 - £1,800 = £700) Perhaps that is where he will be paying the insurance from.

But if he only pays £1800 for the car, he will will have saved the £700 for insurance ;)

Although he now hasnt reached the reserve...lol

Daz

Sooooooo..............if he hasnt reached the reserve, he hasnt bought the car, and if he hasnt bought the car, he wont need insurance and will save even more than £700:)

So...(if i can figure this out), he now won't get the car, so he is now saving a total of £2500 :)

BARGAIN! ;)

Daz

Well, seeing xmas is on the way, think I will go and bid on the same car, do the same thing.then take the missus shopping with all the money saved:)

Got a reply from the seller of the coupe....

Hi,
Derrick e mailed me after he had met the reserve price of £2500 to say that he had just got an insurance quote and could'nt afford the insurance so could i cancel his bid.
I cancelled his bids then he bid again up to £1800 !!, i e mailed him as i could'nt understand why,
he informed me that he has now entered his maximum bid to still be able to afford the insurance, but i have e mailed him again to tell him that the car will not be selling for less than £2500 so he is wasting his time by bidding,
so, no at the moment the reserve of £2500 hasn't been met,

Regards,

Dave
