im really sorry its not about my car.

your all lovely people on here from different kinda jobs so thought this would be the place to ask.

im doing interviews tomorrow to find a supervisor (for a shoe shop) and ive only got 10 basic interview questions to ask them so far, ive gone blank and cant think of any others. Can you think of any basic questions, maybe some you have been asked?
 
One question i was asked that made me think a little was:

you have just completed 20 minutes cpr on a 60 year old male, there is nothing more you can do, he's had adrenaline and atropine as protocols state and he remains asystole. Unfortanetly the family are in the house, what is your response to the outcome as far as the family are concerned?

I miss my HGT!!

(looking for the extra mile answer)

Give me an example of when you have given excellent customer service.
(checks for preparation and if they regularly exceed customer expectation they should be fairly quick to respond)

Give me an example of when you have received excellent customer service
(Good way of pointing out the rarity of good service and laying out your expectations)

Supervisory questions:-

Gemma is often 5 minutes late, what steps would you take to resolve the situation?
(checks for ability to lead and decision making)

Your manager is often 5 minutes late, what steps would you take?
(this will really sort the mice from the men/women)

my favourite closing question:-

I am interviewing xx people for the job, why should i choose you

(checks to see if they are a cocky **** you would hate to work with :p )
 
ohh they are really good questions, think im gonna re interview, i'll use them :D

interviews didnt go to well to be honest

woman number 1 was ok, great experiance but shes sooo laid back and im not, im always running around trying to sort things out im worried we wont get on i think she might have the "i'll do it tomrrow attitude" and there isnt time for that, plus she lives about 30 mins away and doesnt drive so shes gonna be relying on trains, if shes gotta open up and the trains late the shop wont be open on time.

woman number 2 was usless i thought she was gonna be great but nope didnt say anything ti impress me at all.

number 3 is tricky, shes acting supervisor at the min but shes also a really good friend of mine. Shes helped out so much over the last 4 months but she does have times when she cant be bothered and i have had to have words with her about rudness to customers, if she could just get her bum in gear she would be great, shes only 20 (im only 21 myself so im not sure her age has alot to do with it) but shes starting to think about her career so this job could change her

number 4 also already works in the shop, shes a but older, i get on with her so well shes like me as soon as she walks in she doesnt stop until she goes home and we get so much done and she makes me laugh so much i love my job and its even nicer when im working with wendy, but then thats gonna cause trouble with number 3.
 
Number 3 could be dodgy if you have had to have words already for rudeness AND not having her ass in gear, what message would it give her if you do promote her? Number 4 sounds better to me, esp if I was a customer........what is your gut instinct?

what is best for your store/customers/takings?


if you need to soften the blow with number 3 you can lay out a personal performance review, highlighting her good qualities and the areas for development to enable her to progress.

thank you for the good advice :) i think its gotta be number 4. I need somone whos gonna listen to me and back me up 100% and i know she will, number 3 questions everything i do already and its getting really annoying and there needs to be a good atmosphere in the shop otherwise people wont come in, so number 4 it is. Really not looking forward to telling the others tho, next week my shop is gonna be called war zone!

Lol Dan how did you know number 3 was Chelle? sorry if i woke you up again this morning, least it wasnt half 6 this time :p
 
i will be using them questions soon, and any other good ones anyone can think of, today was awful.i split the job into week and weekend supervisor 21 and 28 hours, i desided number 4 for the week and number 3 for the weekend told number 1 and 2 they didnt get the job then i told number 3 she cried and got really angry cos she didnt get the week job and stormed off. when she came back a few hours later she handed me her keys and a letter and told me she was off but she had annoyed me so much i didnt try and stop her. i called number one back (looking like proper idiot) and offered her the job she said yes so it was fine then she phoned me back at 5 to say shes changed her mind. poster will be back up in the window tomorrow and hopefully everything will be sorted next week.

anyone want a job?
