Hi All. Just joined the Forum, thought you may be able to help me with my Ducato camper van that I've recently purchased. My first query is about the side sliding door, the latching mechanism jams and will not release, I have only lubricated it so far. The van is a 2000 model and info. is a bit sparse. Thanks

I'm not too sure about the 2000 model, but here goes.
On later models there is a pin up on the top right corner of the door opening with what looks like a fairly standard door catch. This pin can often come loose and will either drop out and become lost or it can jam the door closed which then requires some effort, along with a few choice words of your personal choosing, to open the door.
If that is the case then it is easily remedied. If its something else like worn rollers etcetera, then a bit of detective work might garner some results.
Good luck with it.

When the door is maladjusted, rollers worn or the pin out of position the top latch can collide with the pin get bent an can jam. Theres also a rubber stop in the latch that it can get torn or worn and then the latch moves too far and jams in the rubber. Part is only about €15 from Citroen. If your buying on ebay be careful as lots of the ones for sale on there are for LHD vans and the latch is a mirror image

Oops! I should have clarified my info. I was looking at mine being a right hand drive.

Just checked the price and its about €20 from citroen and €38 from fiat.

If you need a new guide roller for the upper leading edge of the door, the new Fiat unit is over £100.00 Crazy! I bought an Ebay replacement which looked identical for about £15. Sadly the dimensions and angles were ever-so-slightly wrong, and I couldn't fit it, even after a bit of judicious bending in an engineer's vice. Still making do with the original!
Sorry, mines a 2003 model, X244.
