Hi all, I'm would love to pick some brains if poss. I have a 2004 115JTD multipla. Can anyone tell me at what milage does the cambelt need to be changed its on 58k at the minute.
Does anyone here tow a caravan with theirs if so how well do they tow and what is the maxium weight of van i could tow.
Is it worth having a performance chip fitted, I hear you can push the power up to 155BHP?? is that a true figure or a wild claim??

Thanks
Look forward to hearing from you

Make that 72k miles.

You can boost the power to a good deal more but if you do and tow I would suggest you will be replacing clutches fairly frequently.

There is an adjustable power plug-in device that works well called Synergy1 at around £150 ( I use it. Not that you need to take heed of me. Check it out http://tuning-diesels.com/Synergy1/tu3all.htm ) which has the other advantage of switching it between CR diesels.

I wouldnt go past 36k and 3 years , its never the belt that just goes it will be an idler or a pulley.Fiat Alfa allways seem to quote 75k to europe as in kilometers and for some reason it stays the same figure in miles .

I've just had mine replaced by Pasquale at Gonnella Brothers. Mine's an 05 39k on the clock. It comes as a kit and you'll brobably notice that there's less noise in the engine compartment. As they say, prevention is better than cure. Once done then i would investigate tunning etc.
Hope that helps..

72000 miles or 5 years, whichever is sooner.

If you buy a kit from fiat you get a modified tensioner pulley, its made from metal instead of plastic, and a new idler pulley.
