Cambelt just changed:Now getting Whineing noise!!

Hiya....just need some help.....yesterday i took my car to have the cambelt changed,the guy said he fitted a complete kit...not just the belt.....ANYWAY, ive noticed driving it today that there is a whineing noise coming from that area now....it deff wasnt there before...it seems louder when cold i think.....just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem..is it because its a new belt and need bedding in.....or is it that the garage has F@@ked it up?????....any help/advise would be appreciated....the guy also said he replaced the alternator belt too......CHEERS

ITs a new belt and tensioner, give it a few k miles.

Agree with tom, I had mine changed and went through the same noise worries as you.it will dissapear

yeah mine did that after i had it changed, as you say, noticable when cold. Hasn't broken yet and i think i've done about 2k since it was changed!!! lol

THANK GOODNESS!!

I have a similar noise on my bravo - also just had the belt and the rest replaced.

It's VERY nice to know it's not a problem and will soon go away!

My car makes a strange noise when I turn the key. For some odd reason it won't move if its not making the noise. Is my car broken?

your car doesn't move without making a noise??? It's knackered tom!!! mine moves without noise, i just take the handbrake off and off it goes!!!
